Kareena is here. What more do i want?

What happened?: It's a gastro infection. I thought of eating a homemade teekha bhel and that did me in. I called Kareena and we decided to come to Kareena Kapoor Lilavati Hospital.

On Kareena: Kareena is amazing. She's constantly with me and is looking after me. She's mothering me. As she is here, I haven't missed anybody or anything. And I must appreciate her family who was the first to visit me.

Kareena Kapoor gains weight, Kajol loses it

What is it with waif queen Kareena Kapoor and her fickle nature regarding the size of her booty?

First she packs on pounds for 'Don' and attempts to fit in a yellow costume looking all meaty to seduce Shahrukh Khan. Then she loses weight so much so that her bones stare at your face, attempting to frolic about a beach in a green bikini in the worst movie of 2008 (Tashan).

We've heard that yesteryear Bollywood queen Kajol is on a strict diet regiment, and Kareena is reaching out for cheese oozing burgers to slap on the flab again. In case you're scratching your head as to why these two are acting funny, be prepared to lose your hair - both the stars are following instructions from Karan Johar!

Both heroines have been roped in by Dharma Productions - super talented Kajol will grace the screens in ‘My Name Is Khan’ and questionably talented Kareena will be a part of Rensil D’ Silva’s directorial venture produced by Karan Johar.

Karan Johar apparently didn't like Kajol's hulking frame and 'suggested' to shed a few kilos for ‘My Name Is Khan', and has advised Kajol to go on a strict diet of almonds. Surprising, since we're not sure how almond is the best way to kick weight without starving oneself.

He also frowned with acid reflux after continually staring at Kareena's thumb size waist and demanded that she hide her ribs. Directed by Rensil D’ Silva, the film stars Vivek and Saif.

Brand endorsements for Bollywood stars take a hit!

Slashing of star fees and non-renewal of contracts is the likely impact of recession in the advertising industry.

At a time when several recession-hit producers are keeping ambitious projects on hold, brand endorsements once the biggest source of income for stars too seems to have taken a hit. Not only is there a major cut in the endorsement fees, but also there is also little demand for renewals of existing contracts. Though the huge slump in the advertising budgets and a drastic cut in celebrity endorsements fees is inevitable, the situation may actually help advertisers convince stars to sign endorsement contracts at lesser fees over the next year, according to Prahlad Kakkar.

Saif and I offer our condolences: Kareena

Kareena Kapoor was in Philadelphia when the Mumbai terror attacks happened, but that didn't stop her from being enraged. Read a letter she wrote about the situation:

7000 miles away and very, very angry.

On Wednesday, 26th November, when the terrorists attacked Mumbai, I was getting ready to start my day 7000 miles away in Philadelphia. I got a call from my sister saying there are bomb blasts in Mumbai. It was an eerie feeling. Seven years ago, we were in India following the news coverage of the 9/11 attacks on the World Trade Centre in New York. Today, I was in the US, following the news coverage of the 26/11 attack on India's financial capital. CNN was carrying live coverage of the attacks.

In the days that have followed the 26th of November, I have felt a surge of mixed emotions. Sadness at the loss of lives and property. Admiration for our police, armed forces and firemen, who did their best and fought bravely despite the limited means at their disposal. Disgust with the so-called political leaders who provide no leadership and ironically surround themselves with so many security guards while doing little or nothing for the security of the people who have voted them to power. And anger at the cowards who kill in the name of religion, and anger at the cowards who support them without owning up.

I am writing this after seeing pictures of the citizens' rally at the Gateway of India and I am filled with pride. It was wonderful to see so many of us speaking in one voice for our city, our country. I am writing this piece as this is the only way I can reach out to our people from so far away.

I want to applaud the media for being pro active... and for being the force that is trying to unite the nation. We must genuinely unite if real change is to come... there are too many divisions...political and religious in our minds. If we are to be secure and strong we need to fight terror together... without any negotiation.

Saif and I both would like to offer our deepest condolences to all the bereaved families...you are in our thoughts and will stay in our minds...I love my city very much...Mumbai is my home, our home... and is the city that has given us all so much. I pray that we can build a better tomorrow on the rubble of our today.

Saif, Kareena vent anger against politicians

Saif Ali Khan and Kareena Kapoor are the latest Bollywood stars to criticise the government for failing to tackle terrorism and protect citizens. Both said they were "disgusted" with politicians "who provide no leadership" while arming themselves "with so many security guards".

The actors were busy shooting for Renzil D'Silva's untitled project in Philadelphia when the mayhem broke loose in Mumbai on Nov 26.

“The government has failed us again. The BJP (Bharatiya Janata Party) is advertising for votes while the bodies of the dead have not yet been cremated. Mr. (Narendra) Modi had offered Rs.10 million to the widow of Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) chief Hemant Karkare. The news has shaken the foundations of our city and destroyed our already shaky belief in our government's ability to protect us,” Saif wrote in a statement circulated to the media and signed by both.

Added Kareena: “I am disgusted with the so-called political leaders who provide no leadership and ironically surround themselves with so many security guards while doing little or nothing for the security of the people who have voted them to power.

Saif also slammed the terrorists for killing “innocent people” in the name of “god” or “religion”.

“As an Indian and a Muslim, I feel like expressing my condemnation and outright disgust at any party killing innocent people in the name of god, Allah or whatever we choose to call him.

“I am so worried that the whole religion (Islam) will be judged and condemned. There are strong communal feelings running through all strata's of our society and I find it hard to defend the fact that there seems to be a Muslim hand behind every detonator. I feel a little scared as a Muslim now,” explained the actor.

The couple offered commiseration for the families who suffered at the attacks and praised the police and media for their endeavors in tackling the situation.

“Saif and I would both like to offer our deepest condolences to all the bereaved families and I want to applaud the media for being pro-active and for being the force that is trying to unite the nation,” wrote Kareena.

Saif added: “I would like to thank the NSG (National Security Guard) and the Mumbai police who handled the situation so well with so little on their side in terms of equipment and support."

Kareena shoots a film based on terror in these hard times

When the heinous terror strike hit Mumbai, little did Bollywood actress Kareena Kapoor know that terrorism would take a toll on the city when she would be away shooting for a similar terror-related film in Philadelphia.

On hearing the news of the attack, a worried Kareena spent her valuable time in the US, making anxious calls back home. The actress had been shooting for some horrifying terrorism scenes the previous day, for Karan Johar's new film.

Speaking to the reporters over phone from Philadelphia, Bebo says, "It's all fine here but I feel awful because of what has happened in Mumbai. It's hard to believe this is happening to a city where it was said people could be out on the streets at any time day and night," Kareena said.

The actress returns to Mumbai in the last week of December.
